Our

History

Welink.Light-glow curates an extensive collection of furnishings and home goods that constantly evolves to fit your everyday needs. To ensure our inventory is top of the line, we collaborate with the best manufacturers and designers in the industry.

Our adventure began in 2010 in London as a giftware distributor to the UK wholesale and retail market. Jeffrey, the founder and Director of the Company, started to introduce the product of his family business, the Light-Glow lithophane dome candle holder which take its inspiration from the beautifully decorated vault of cathedrals. Its design, quality and packaging quickly made it a successful gift and decorative product, some museums and attractions even have their own bespoke designs, making it a unique piece to remember. On this thriving path, we have extended the line of products to lighting from fabric to porcelain and stunning hand-blown glass lamps, each of them is giving a unique warmth and cosy character to the room. We aim at keeping to develop lighting as it is a great success.

At Welink we believe in delivering durable and high standard products which means using fine raw materials and forgetting about plastic. Our products are designed and conceived as to preserve a taste for innovation while using ancient and traditional making skills. This is the best way to link our present back to our past and keep our carbon footprint low.

Besides the environmental question there is the ethics, in this aspect we carefully select our manufacturers and pay them visits yearly to make sure we work in tandem: with the same values about product quality and conditions at work.

If you like our products and decided to be our customer, we guaranteed a satisfying customer service and delivery experience with love.

Creation

Process

Light-Glow Dome:

Every Light-Glow dome creation begins with an artistic inspiration. The first sketch of the new design in clay is examined and approved. The sketch, in clay, is reproduced in plaster to provide the first mould, which will in turn become the definitive mould for the porcelain lithophane dome.

In compliance with the sculptor’s instructions, and the surface of the piece, it is carved with delicate motifs that will give it its final appearance.

Our Lithophane dome is produced out at a temperature of around 1,200 to 1,300 degree in the oxidizing atmosphere. This process vitrifies the greenwares and makes them durable, white, and translucent. However, in order to achieve the best results within such specific temperature ranges, the firing schedule must be carefully controlled.

Once the crafting process finishes, the lithophane dome goes through different quality controls. Most pieces make their way successfully to the end of the process, and those that do not comply with our quality standards are destroyed.

Light-Glow the brand that means Home; elegant porcelain candle holders and lamps that will give warmth to any room.

Using the same amazing technique of our Engraved Tea Light Candle Holder, we created the British Collection Range.
